The GHS is aimed at informing and protecting people, thus falls under various pieces of legislation including – OHS Act and Hazardous Substances Act.
The National Department of Environmental Affairs – DEA Gazetted the Waste Classification Regulations on 23 Aug 2013 with immediate implementation, and 18 month phase –in which is January 2015!. This requires Waste to be Classified in terms of GHS and SDS, so need to learn to prepared !
