UN TDG

The UN Sub-Committee of Experts for Transport of dangerous goods and Sub-Committee for the UN GHS meet twice a year in June /July and December over a 2 year period or biennium. The committees consist of Government representatives – regulators and Industry NGO’s who provide information on practical operations, incidents and technical advances

which impact on amendments and revisions to the UN Model Regulations for TDG (Orange Book) & the

UN GHS (Purple Book) which are revised and published ant the end of each biennium.

The RPMASA is a Consultative Industry Member of the two UN Sub – Committees.

December meetings of the UN Sub-Committees concluded the biennium with the 38th session of the

TDG and 20th session of the GHS – agreements will be incorporated in the 17th revision of the UN TDG

Model regulations and the 4th revision of the UN GHS which will be published in the first half 2011

Representatives from 24 Countries, UNITAR, the ILO, WHO, IAEA, ILO, EU & OECD together with 26

Industry Associations attended the December meetings which were Key to agree and confirm revisions

as well as set the programme of work for the next biennium 2011-2013.
