The CDI is incorporated under the law of the Netherlands as the Stichting Chemical Distribution Institute (CDI) and operates as a non-profit making foundation.
The CDI is responsible for the inspection and audit of the Global Supply Chain for the transport and storage of bulk and packaged chemicals. CDI is not a trade association; it is non-profit, non-commercial and free from political influence which is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of seven individuals nominated by the participating chemical companies.
The CDI was created by the chemical manufacturing industry, for the chemical industry in 1994 to improve the Supply Chain Service Providers practices and performance, and over the years has gone from strength to strength. CDI is here to serve the chemical company members of CDI and provide their inspection and audit needs in order to provide them with cost effective systems for risk assessment using the best chemical and LPG knowledge available
RPMASA has an MOU with the CDI to promote their Marine and IMPCAS Assessment Schemes to assist Supply Chain Service Providers and Port Terminals improve their safety, efficiency and compliance, and have hosted CDI Training in Durban, South Africa.
ICHCA – The International Cargo Handling Coordination Association (ICHCA), founded in 1952, is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the safety, security, sustainability, productivity and efficiency of cargo handling and goods movement by all modes and through all phases of national and international supply chains.
ICHCA international’s privileged non-government organisation (NGO) status enables it to represent its members, and the cargo handling industry at large, in front of national and international agencies and regulatory bodies. Its Expert Panel provides technical advice and publications on a wide range of practical cargo handling issues.
RPMASA has an MOU with ICHCA to promote safety and compliance in container use and handling along the Supply Chain.
EXIS – Exis Technologies, headquartered in Darlington, UK, is the leading global supplier of Hazcheck IT compliance systems for the management of DG in sea transport and e-learning courses for the transport industry. Exis has over 30 years’ experience of supporting container lines (9 of the top 10), ferry lines, freight forwarders, ports and terminals. They are the software division of the National Cargo Bureau, New York. Hazcheck Systems are based on the IMDG Code and help customers to ship their DG quickly and efficiently, automatically checking stowage, segregation and packaging requirements (without the need for the IMDG Code books). They are updated and maintained in line with the IMDG Code Amendments and Errata. The systems range from a web-based subscription service for shippers and logistics companies (automatic checks and production of dangerous goods notes), to a powerful booking and management system for container lines and validation ‘Toolkits’ to integrate with existing computer-based systems (including a web service) www.hazcheck.com
Exis have developed a range of e-learning courses for the transport industry supported and sponsored by industry bodies TT Club, ICHCA and ITCO. IMDG Code e-learning (www.imdge-learning.com), CTU packing e-learning (www.ctupack.com) and Tank Container e-learning (www.tankcontainer-elearning.com) are all web-based with course content and assessment taking place online. Exis works closely with industry partners to increase global awareness of regulatory changes and issues, and develops innovative solutions to make dangerous goods transport safer. Hazcheck Restrictions is a DG compliance portal for the global shipping community. Hazcheck Inspections is a web portal/database to record container inspection results. Exis developed CINSnet, a DG incidents database for container lines.
RPMASA are the regional representative for Exis Technologies in South Africa.
PACKAGINGSA – The Packaging Council of South Africa (PACSA) was founded in 1984 and evolved into a new industry body called Packaging SA. Packaging SA, which is closely associated with The Institute of Packaging South Africa (IPSA). Packaging SA is a voluntary industry body. Its members are in two broad categories, Converters and Associates. The Converters represent some 70% of the revenue generated by the industry. Associates are in effect the major raw material suppliers, material organisations, brand owners, retailers and other organisations and associations with interests in the packaging industry. Collectively this body directly employs some 60 000 people in South Africa.
INSTITUTE OF WASTE MANAGEMENT OF SOUTH AFRICA – The Institute of Waste Management of Southern Africa (IWMSA) was established over 30 years ago, it was the vision of the founders to provide South Africa with a clean and healthy environment – still a core value for the Institute today.
It is a multi-disciplinary non-profit association that is committed to supporting professional waste management practices. It comprises voluntary members who promote environmentally acceptable, cost effective and appropriate waste management practices. IWMSA strives towards the protection of the environment and people of Southern Africa from the adverse effects of poor waste management by supporting sustainable best practical environmental options. It participates in and contributes to the improvement of waste management standards and legislation, and supports international, national and regional trends in best environmental practices; it promotes the science and technology of waste management and practice affordable cost effective management of waste. Education and training for effective and efficient waste management is a key focus for us.
SAIOH – The Southern African Institute for Occupational Hygiene was founded in 1992 to provide a home for Professional Occupational Hygienists by establishing Professional qualifications and registration. It was granted Membership of the International body IOHA in 1996 and is recognised by SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority) as the Professional Registration body in our region with 3 levels of Accreditation-

- Occupational Hygiene Technician (OHT)
- Occupational Hygienist (OH)
SAPICS – Provides a home for Supply chain and operations management professionals with both corporate and individual membership .
SAPICS provides Members with up-to-date information, new ideas and developments in the field of supply chain management through personal contact, group meetings, regular correspondence and the SAPICS website. It also provides high quality, formal training programmes developed or acquired by SAPICS specifically to aid and improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
Relevant and up-to-date knowledge is disseminated to members through regular meetings, seminars, business breakfasts, workshops, site visits and conferences. SAIOSH – The South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Saiosh) was established on the historic day when South Africa celebrated the 20th anniversary of the release of Nelson Mandela from prison on 11 February 2010 by a group of enthusiastic Occupational Health and Safety Professionals from South Africa.
Saiosh is the registration board for the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health South Africa (IOSH SA), recognised as a professional body by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) to register Occupational Health and Safety Professionals in South Africa.
ICPP – The International Confederation of Plastic Packaging Manufacturers
Founded in 1997, ICPP International Confederation of Plastics Packaging Manufacturers is an international organization of national and regional associations of plastics packaging manufacturers. The association’s commitment is to improve and help the frame conditions for the international transport of dangerous goods in plastics packaging, and to encourage environmentally sound practices in the management of the packaging life cycle.
ICPP has enjoyed Consultative Membership status with the UN sub-Committee of Experts for Transport of Dangerous Goods since 1997.
The activities of ICPP are concentrated on the world-wide co-operation of manufacturers of plastics packagings for dangerous goods in view of non-restrictive transport conditions.
IDGCA – The International Dangerous Goods and Container Association was established in 2001 by a number of organizations interested in providing a structure for communication between Administrations, international organizations and business. The main focus of the IDGCA is on increasing of efficiency and safety of transportation of dangerous goods and on improving regulatory compliance in dangerous goods packaging and Transport, It is based in St Petersburg where it established a Training centre in 2003 for dangerous goods specialists. The Association was granted Consultative Status with the UN Sub-Committees of Experts for Transport of dangerous goods and the GHS in 2001.
REACH Delivery International – is the provider of the REACH Delivery electronic Safety Data Sheet delivery service. The company focuses entirely on providing solutions to assist their clients in meeting and complying with International Health and Safety Legislation such as REACH, and National Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
Hibiscus PLC – Hibiscus software solutions for chemical product Classification, compilation of Safety Data Sheets and Product labels. Hibiscus has 3 main off the shelf products and their Technical team will work closely with companies to tailor these solutions to organizational needs for developing Safety Data Sheets and printing product labels.
Labeline – based in the UK is a worldwide distributor and one of the largest recognised specialists in the field of Dangerous Goods Regulations for all Transport modes. It now provides IATA based online eLearning which is approved by the UK Civil Aviation Authority and by IATA.
